We help them over the hurdles of wanting to do too much too soon and keep them focussed on money-generating activity as opposed to becoming unpurposely busy. We also stop start-ups from spending budgets they don't have and insist on testing and measuring all marketing and sales activities from the start. We equally promote simple tracking systems for activity and money flow.
